About Us
The Northern Woods & Water Highway officially starts from Winnipeg in the east, goes north to The Pas, and then westward through northern Saskatchewan and Alberta into NE BC, before going south through the interior of BC to the lower mainland. The highway was conceived in the mid-1970s by a retired CN employee from McLennan, AB. He took a group of campers from Dawson Creek, BC, to Winnipeg, MB each year, eventually forming an Association that lobbied the three prairie provinces to recognize the highway.
Join a group of like minded people who love travelling and seeing new sights. There is golf, water, wildlife, history, and a new view of western Canada. Itinerary allows for golf or other activities each day (weather dependent).
Note that the majority of the communities along the highway are quite small, and many do not have the capability to host a large number of RVs in a serviced campground. Along the way, there are six small cities, 32 towns, and 48 villages. Many overnight stays will be in a group camping setup with minimal services.
The average daily distance traveled is 200 km, and the tour lasts 21 days. From from Cache Creek to Winnipeg, the distance is approx 3,500 km.
2025 RV Tour Daily Experiences
TESTIMONIAL 2025 PARTICIPANT
When we first received a brochure about the tour, we thought what a great idea to travel in our RV with a group of like-minded people. Well I can now say it did not disappoint and we have great memories of our trip in June 2025, our fellow travellers felt like family right away.
This was our first guided RV tour and we had no idea what to expect, travelling with a group felt safe and having details (campsite, suppers, attractions) looked after takes the work and worry out of planning. We enjoyed a variety of excellent food, places to see and things to do. Visiting Barkerville, Tumbler Ridge jet boat tour and the horse/wagon trail ride are key highlights, in addition to some golf and fishing.
The NWW RV tour was a great opportunity to see parts of Canada that we likely would not have travelled by ourselves, there was so much beautiful scenery! The tour organizer was very knowledgeable and provided good information about the many places along our route.
We loved the experience and highly recommend it to anyone!
